Herman was born 11 Dec 1856 in Muellheim, Thurgau, Switzerland. He immigrated with his family to Santa Clara, Washington, Utah where he married Selina Gubler in the St. George Temple. He died 7 Mar 1941 in Ivins, Washington, Utah and is buried in the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
